This sounds to me like something you should take up with the site you
use for photo uploading.

Photobucket, as an example, provides this functionality in a way.
Their solution (which I think all photo uploading sites should use) is
to keep the chain of folders as links at the top, so you can quickly
jump up to the previous folder. Basically it's just a few links that
look like this.....

link to main folder -> link to sub-folder -> link to sub-sub folder
(current folder)

So you can just click the link for the upper level folder to go
straight there, or even go all the way back "up" to the main folder in
a click.

I'm not sure what use an up arrow would be for a browser besides when
browsing photo albums, and possibly retail stores, and the good ones
already have systems to make going "up" easy.
