I would like to be able to open a new tab from the dropdown history
list that appears when one clicks down and pauses on the back button.
This would allow easier review of a recent or last viewed page (in a
separate tab) without losing the current page (or switching back and
forth).

Of course, the feature would be valuable as well on the forward
history dropdown list.

I wish I had these features when, in the middle of an online order
with a pending rebate attachment, I wanted to revisit a previous page
for more information--without losing the mysterious trail that the
rebate vendor was following.

Thanks for your great work!
