Nearly every time I perform a single word Google query using the omnibar, the browser spends about 5 seconds "Resolving proxy..." This is extremely frustrating.
For queries with multiple terms, this rarely happens, if ever. This nearly defeats the purpose of having an omnibar, when I can perform the same search in Firefox (or any other browser with a Google search box) in less than a second. I'm currently using 2.0.160.0, but this has been an issue for as long as I can remember. Is this occurring because the browser is trying to determine if i am going to a single-word redirect on the network I'm using (eg, http://dogs)? If so, there must be a better, quicker option than "Resolving proxy..." every time. What are your thoughts? Thanks!
