You said that "Even with the version in stable channel of Chrome, this

occurs". Are you sure you downgraded properly? If you have version
2.x, it means you are in the dev channel. If you want to revert to the
stable version, you have to change the channel, uninstall it and then
download it again; changing the channel alone doesn't work.
Anyway, I think the latest version (2.0.160.0) is really good: stable
and everything, with a lot of bugs fixed. I haven't experienced
anything of what you say (but I've never checked whether there are
some chrome.exe processes after I close it, I'll have a look at that).
