Generally, in the latest Dev release of Chrome (and maybe also in the Stable
version of Chrome 2, perhaps not in the same manner or scope), there is an
option to 'blacklist' a website from the most visited section and an option
to pin and keep a website, even if you are not visiting that website
at all.(Instructions for the Dev channel -
here <http://dev.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel>.)

There is a chance you will have to add a switch (right click on the Chrome
icon and add this to the end of the path\address) -
--new-new-tab-page
