I have an application on my desktop which opens up a connection to another system on a specific port. When it does this, Chrome stops working. Specifically, it breaks the search feature; nothing happens until I stop the application, at which time the search executes. Is there a list of ports that Chromium uses? As far as I can tell, Chromium is the only thing that breaks when I'm using this application. Is it possible that Chrome expects a specific socket port to be available but doesn't reserve the port? Is it possible it attempts to get the port, but the timeout is very long before it gives up and attempts to move on to a new port?
