I think there is many reasons why one may need to manage group of tabs. Chrome is fast and lightweight, so that encourages users to open more and more tabs specially if the Cloud Computing comes to play. As more tabs open, the tab bar will be crowded and it will be more difficult to track your open tabs, so I think that leads us to the concept of Tab Groups. One Can group his tabs logically under different groups e.g News, Games, Work, Personal, Temp, Misc etc. and deal with them like one entity. Another thing that may help is thumbnails, I think some times is easer to manage and track your open tabs visually using for example thumbnails sidebar, special thumbnail tab, etc. One last thing, Linux users are used to "/" to start searching, so please add this to the Linux version.
