I'm assuming the tmpfs is set up on your .mozilla folder? Chrome's corresponding folder is ~/.config/google-chrome and Chromium's is ~/.config/chromium.
It should be fine, but I don't think it will result in as much of a speed increase -- I think chrome tries to depend less on that config dir.
