Techcrunch recently posted an autoupdater for Chromium on mac. However, Peter Kasting (a chromium dev) brought up in the comments on that post these points:
* The official Chrome builds _do_ autoupdate, and fairly often (usually once a week) * Chrome builds go through QA to make sure they won't destroy your data. Chromium builds do not. * The auto updater might break, leaving you with an old version with security holes. For those reasons, chrome (not chromium) would be preferrable (Nico posted the link to the Chrome download already, but it's http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en/eula_dev.html?dl=mac ) So as long as you are aware of those, if it's really chromium and not chrome you want, here's the post: http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/08/16/our-mac-chromium-updater-stay-up-to-date-on-the-best-versions-of-chrome-for-mac/ On Mon, Aug 17, 2009 at 02:10, n179911 <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi, > > I have been using chromium daily build (I download and install myself > from chromium daily build web page periodically). > Does anyone know if chromium daily build on MacOS X updates it > automatically?
