There are development versions for MacOS and WIndows as well. All of the development versions are meant to be used as a second webbrowser (even if the first webbrowser is a stable version of chrome), so this isn't a Linux only thing. AFAICT there will always be a development version of chrome and this feature will remain useful for people who choose to use that version. If anything, it would be beneficial to users of the stable version as well. -- John C.
