To whom it may concern, Recently, after discovering the "Artist" themes for Google Chrome, I was inspired to create my own theme based on the colorway for one of my most visited websites/forums. Well, after a few minutes of googling for a place to start, I found one. The only problem is that there are around 400 .PNG files to edit. Not only that, but I can't seem to find some of the main images I would need. So, I googled some more and found this discussion group. Basically I am wondering if Google could ever be convinced to lend the graphics artists out there a hand by making a program to make Chrome Theme editing and creation a more streamline process?
I was thinking of a program with a layout that would kind of be a mix of things. One side of the programs interface, would be used as a "real-time" window to preview changes to the theme as they occur. The editing of images could be simplified by having the following as an option. The ability to change the color of individual components using color codes. That is to say, a person could change the color of the "house" image, within the "Home Button" Icon, but not the background color of the button or change the background color of the button and not the "house" color etc. Otherwise, images could also be edited the conventional way through a graphics program like Photoshop. As well as a mix of both methods. I.e. a person could make the background image for the Chrome "Home Page" as well as an image for the Title Bar, input them into the theme via the program I am imagining, and then simply editing the default buttons colors, to create a totally new theme. They could also create their own buttons if they so wished. If a program like this were developed by Google/Chromium, it would just be plain sweet. So please support the end users creativity and consider making something like this. I imagine it kind of being like old Windows desktop features, where a person could edit practically every detail of Windows interface, to their liking. Throw in a color selector similar to Photoshop and were in business. It would just be cool and i'm 100% positive people like myself would absolutely adore it. People will (and already are) going to edit and make their own themes either way, but I would just love it if the process were streamlined by Google itself, so the average person can work on a theme or two, and not feel like they are doing an impossible task. Much love to the devs of Chrome. Can not describe just how fully satisfied with Chrome I have been since it's first launch. Such an amazing browser, nothing can compare in my opinion. Can not wait to see how Googles first operating system turns out. Might be the first OS I have ever bought that wasn't included with a new system... Pretty excited about it actually.. Thanks for taking the time to read my little letter... -Justin M. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Chromium Discussion mailing list: chromium-discuss@googlegroups.com View archives, change email options, or unsubscribe: http://groups.google.com/group/chromium-discuss -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
