I'm the author of SlimSearch, an extension for Firefox.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2440

I want to port it to Chrome. Essentially, the extension allows the
user to highlight arbitrary text on the page, then select a search
engine from the right-click menu and launch a search with the
highlighted text as the search string.

Based on what I've seen so far, there's no way to modify the right-
click menu in Chrome. Is that true? If not, how can I change the menu
and launch various actions based on the option selected in that menu?
