David, sorry for the belated reply, but this email got pushed down in my
inbox and I missed it.

Thank you for the encouragement. I am very familiar with your review in *Finest
Hour* as it is the best I've read on this book. I think you definitely
covered the important stuff that needed to be addressed.

I too have been overwhelmed by the amount of issues throughout the book.
It's not just the cherry-picking of quotes, lack of context for events, and
unqualified statements, but there are wrong dates, quotes attributed to the
wrong authors and/or books, and incorrect statistics. These aren't
necessarily malicious, but they are sloppy and show how haphazardly this
book was thrown together.

I was corresponding with another member about this topic last week - My
biggest concern with this book are all the readers that are impressed with
the hundreds of footnotes. I've seen numerous reviews that say something
along the lines of "this book is thoroughly researched and I had no idea
Churchill was such a bad person." It's discouraging.

Anyway, part III should be ready in the next week or two.
