Jim,

These are beautiful photographs.  Thanks for sharing.  Gen. Patton wrote a
moving account of Brig. Gen. Roosevelt's funeral.  Theodore Jr. served under
Patton in Sicily.

Respectfully,

David Freeman

As a follow-up to my email yesterday, attached are photos of the gravestones of
Quentin Roosevelt and his elder brother Theodore Roosevelt, side by side at the
American cemetery at Omaha Beach in Normandy .

If any American member of ChurchillChat has a friend or relative whose
gravestone is at the Omaha Beach cemetery or the St. James cemetery in Normandy
, and would like me to take a photo, gratis, please send me an email at
[email protected].

This message is primarily for Americans. This is because Canadians, British and
all nationalities where the gravestones are located in Commonwealth War Graves
Commission (CWGC) cemeteries can see the images online at the CWGC website –
www.cwgc.org

The CWGC initiated this major project two years ago. Currently photographs have
been taken of all the gravestones in Europe , but not yet the rest of the
world. The CWGC’s database lists the 1.7 million men and women of the
Commonwealth forces who died during the two world wars, and who are
commemorated in 23,000 cemeteries throughout the world.

My message to any American members of ChurchillChat who would like me to take a
photo of the gravestone of a friend or relative in one of the Normandy
cemeteries, is to send me an email with the name of the person and the location
of the cemetery.
