I found the quote “The history is more important than the outcome” which the 
website http://uncyclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/Herodotus credits to Churchill when 
Churchill was speaking of Herodotus.
The website doesn’t give its source regarding the quotation so I have limited 
trust that Churchill said it in that context or if he said it at all. If anyone 
else has information regarding Churchill’s thoughts on Herodotus I would be 
quite interested.
