One of the enduring fixtures of broadcasting is Desert Island Discs,
heard on the BBC since 1942. In each episode, someone of note is asked
to imagine that he or she is marooned on a desert island and can only
bring 8 audio records and the Bible, the complete works of Shakespeare
(or whomever may have written those if you are a fan of the various
theories on their true origin) and one luxury (sorry sail boats and
rafts excluded.)
The guest this week is Robert Hardy and his interview is delightful to
listen to, especially as he reminisces about the roles he has played,
including Churchill.

Lady Soames, Sir Martin Gilbert and Sarah Churchill have also appeared
on the show but, alas, their shows are not part of the on-line archives.
