I moved here from Northeast Wisconsin three years ago, and I am
disgusted and astonished at my own experiences. I have experienced
nothing whatsoever like Mary has, but two years ago I got a "seat belt"
ticket WHILE WEARING MY SEAT BELT! I tried to fight it and the clerk of
courts lied to me outright for two months telling me the ticket "hadn't
been turned in yet" by the officer, so I couldn't fight the ticket.
Then the last time I called, they told me I didn't the challenge the
ticket, so they sent my license up to be suspended.
The whole system is based on racketeering.
I tried to send a summary of all that happened to Lawyerdude's
discussion group as well as Dan Quackenbush's group and law-discuss.
WOULD NOT GO THROUGH. I send a blank email, it goes through. Email
before and email after, it goes through. But not a description of what
I was experiencing. Same from all different email address.
I tried posting it to Lawyerdude's group directly on the yahoogroup's
site. That went through, but ONLY to the archive. It didn't actually
get sent to anyone's email. Finally I posted it on my myspace and some
other people cut and pasted it into an email and it went through.
I thought that was odd, and everyone said, "Why would they do all that
just for one traffic ticket?" How many do you think they write out on a
daily basis?
Anyway, its nothing like what Mary experienced, but I was very disgusted
with the whole situation. Governor Pawlenty's staff were very
interested in what I had to say, though. I'll grant them that. They
wanted me to send them all my documentation, but then two days later the
bridge fell, so I didn't send it. Heh.
Pawlenty's staff take a list of everyone who calls and what they wanted
to say and he sees it at the end of every day.
Amy Goodman is a left gatekeeper, btw. I'd go down and bail Cynthia
McKinney out, but I'm not so hot on Amy Goodman.

If you call the jail number from the outside you might get the message

you call 651-266-8500 and ask to be transferred, you can get through.
There is a serious problem within this state and it appears to stem
from our Sheriff's Department's. There was a major COINTEL program
conducted when residents of Racine, Rochester and surrounding areas
threatened to disrupt a money laundering operation at BEARCAT Hollow,
a sham "sanctuary". We did not understand why the Sheriff's
Departments, FBI and local police would not respond appropriately to
the blatant civil rights violations until an aide to Congressman Tim
Walz alleged that he watched and listened as "bricks of cocaine were
moved from used car vans and into bakery vans" under the watchful eyes
of an area Sheriff and a Chief Deputy. Coincidentally, this
particular bakery delivered day old donuts to the "sanctuary" and
supplied the jelly filled donut that was brought to the home of Clyde
Boone when an escaped bear attacked his son, his porch, and his
neighbor, Ed Irlbeck.
Law enforcement in Minnesota is not about enforcing the law and the
Constitution is a meaningless scrap of paper. There's a lot of talk
about creating a Constitution for Iraq. Let's just give them
ours....we're not using it.

ST. PAUL, MN—Democracy Now! host Amy Goodman was unlawfully arrested
in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota at approximately 5 p.m. local time.
Police violently manhandled Goodman, yanking her arm, as they arrested
her. Video of her arrest can be seen
here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYjyvkR0bGQ
Goodman was arrested while attempting to free two Democracy Now!
producers who were being unlawfuly detained. They are Sharif Abdel
Kouddous and Nicole Salazar. Kouddous and Salazar were arrested while
they carried out their journalistic duties in covering street
demonstrations at the Republican National Convention. Goodman’s crime
appears to have been defending her colleagues and the freedom of the
press.
Ramsey County Sherrif Bob Fletcher told Democracy Now! that Kouddous
and Salazar were being arrested on suspicion of rioting. They are
currently being held at the Ramsey County jail in St. Paul.
Democracy Now! is calling on all journalists and concerned citizens to
call the office of Mayor Chris Coleman and the Ramsey County Jail and
demand the immediate release of Goodman, Kouddous and Salazar. These
calls can be directed to: Chris Rider from Mayor Coleman’s office at
651-266-8535 and the Ramsey County Jail at 651-266-9350 (press
extension 0).
Democracy Now! stands by Goodman, Kouddous and Salazar and condemns
this action by Twin Cities law enforcement as a clear violation of the
freedom of the press and the First Amenmdent rights of these journalists.
During the demonstration in which they were arrested law enforcement
officers used pepper spray, rubber bullets, concussion grenades and
excessive force. Several dozen others were also arrested during this
action.
Amy Goodman is one of the most well-known and well-respected
journalists in the United States.. She has received journalism’s top
honors for her reporting and has a distinguished reputation of bravery
and courage. The arrest of Goodman, Kouddous and Salazar is a
transparent attempt to intimidate journalists from the nation’s
leading independent news outlet.
Democracy Now! is a nationally-syndicated public TV and radio program
that airs on over 700 radio and TV stations across the US and the globe.

From my friend Tam:
Well, it looks like we have a case of good-ole fashioned political
repression on our hands in Saint Paul at the RNC. Amy Goodman,
producer of Democracy Now was just arrested for trying to free two of
her journalists as police arrested them at the RNC. They were
interviewing protestors. Democracy Now is about as good journalism as
it gets. This follows the "kick in the door" raid and harassment of
protest organizers just days ago.
Do we have a constitution? Yes. YES. yes.
Here's what I think would be the best response. Call or email your
state Republican headquarters and ask if there is a policy to suspend
first amendment rights of citizens near the RNC. Or you could say it
more politely or whatever...http://www.50states.com/2000/ has all
Republican state party contacts.
