Over the years there has been a dearth of anti CIA books,movies,and articles. Recently I ran across a book by a Jonothon Marshall blaming the drug problem on the CIA among others .Drug Wars goes into the many instances where the CIA is engaged in mission where the antagonist supplement his income with drug dealing. He cites the effort in he Burma,Thai,Laotion where counter intelligence expert Byron Eagle used his OPS (Operation Public Saftey, long ago disbanded) cover along with his accreditation to the CIA, as a cover for assisting the Thai Border Patrol Police where among other things they were given instruction from the Green Berets on bomb making.Whats wrong with blowing up a few heroin labs?So they were corrupt and some actually involved in drug dealing. It is no time for hand wringing as the means now seems to justify the end.
This type of nit picking picking of CIA operations had an effect as with the election of Clinton and his subsequenct reigning in of the CIA's powers. It is no coincidence that shorltly after leaving office the most devestaing attack upon US soil in history occured on 9/11, the CIA having no inkling as to what was happening
