This CR has not been fixed yet, I just meant that we are aware
of a problem in this area.
There is no specific logging for smbd, you can use generic syslog
mechanism (editing /etc/syslog.conf) and add debug level to your
logs

It probably will fix the problem for OS X. I'm unable to test from a
Mac right now, but it's not still working from a Linux client.
The command
# mount -t smbfs -o username=gu...@domain,guest //basestar/public /mnt/smb
6170: tree connect failed: ERRSRV - ERRaccess (The requester does not
have the necessary access rights within the specified context
for the requested function. The context is defined by the TID or the
UID.)
SMB connection failed
The message in /var/adm/messages is:
Nov 25 19:07:54 basestar smbsrv: [ID 138215 kern.notice] NOTICE:
smbd[NT Authority\Anonymous]: public access denied: IPC only
Any ideas? Any way to increase logging on the smbd?
