"Around 33,000 patients of hepatitis C and 6,270 of hepatitis B have been provided free treatment under the Prime Minister's Programme for Prevention and Control of Hepatitis," the ministry told the House in a written reply. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Amad Malik said around 848 Pakistani prisoners were languishing in Indian jails, including 63 civilians and 785 fishermen. While 570 Indian prisoners were in Pakistani jails, including 60 civilians and 510 fishermen. Malik said 79 Pakistani prisoners in Indian jails had completed their sentence and Islamabad regularly raised the issue of repatriation of all Pakistani prisoners with New Delhi. He said it was a humanitarian issue and the Health Ministry considered it a priority. He said the ministry was trying its best to resolve the issue with the efforts of the Pakistani High Commission in New Dehli, Pakistan-Indian Judicial Committee and through the consular access agreement. Special Initiatives Minister Lal Khan told the House that 102 and 319 plants had been installed through the Clean Drinking Water Initiative programme and the Clean Drinking Water for All in Balochistan respectively. Senator Khalid Soomro said over a million people in Karachi were suffering from various diseases due to contaminated water.
