Hi Doug!

If you have a MiniDV camcorder you can grab your files in RawDV format.
Cinelerra will like it.

I use Kino or dvgrab for grabbing from my MiniDV camera.

Another question is that I have files in folders inside My Home directory should Cinelerra be able to open these folders and then open the files?

Yes, you can keep your source files inside folders and subfolders. If
you move your source files during editing you might run into troubles.
The easiest thing is to store your files in a nice and clever folder and
not to move them.

Have fun!

Hi Raffaella,
My camcorder is an old Sony 8mm digital. I will recapture the files and delete the ones that I have saved as Avi files there are only a few. I just thought it might be a good chance to try changing some files with ffmpeg and winff as a I have about 40 Avi files to convert in a couple weeks. They will be part of the third part of a four part video. As to the folders with mpeg files in them Cinelerra does not seem to be able to see the files when I open the folders. They do not show up in the cinelerra load window. I should be able to load mpeg video files from the folders, shouldn't I?
