from where (repositories) are you trying to get cinelerra? Because
that dependencies which are not resolving point to a quite old
packaging (2007.....)
NB this not a bug...a bug is an error inside software, here you're
someway wrong trying to get packaging

I use synaptic myself although I haven't done it with 8.10
We don't call it "8.1" because the ".10" refers to October, the tenth
month of the year when the releases are released. The other one is
April. So in April, 2009, we will have the 9.04 release.
I have continued with the 8.04 version of Ubuntu, because it will be
supported longer and I don't need the new bells and whistles of the
8.10 release.
