The command line tool is growisofs.
If you're in gnome just right click on the .iso file and select write to
disk.
K3B is my own favourite all purpose CD burner and will burn an iso no probs.
If you're DVD burner is old it's a good idea to slow down the write
speed from maximum to perhaps half the available speed.
