This starts to go off-topic, but still. The point is: from my experience, Compiz et al. and Cinelerra don't go together well. So don't use it. But it would be worth to give the Catalyst driver a try. Xv might be faster than in -radeonhd or -ati. But I don't know that for sure. pseudoruprecht
