I think there is also a bug in rendering.
I don't know if antone can fix it. I wrote about it sometime ago but had
no solutions. When you choose 720x576 in editing with aspect ratio 16/9
(for rushes coming from Sony A1E 1080i ) after rendering you get
undefined format and players choose 5/4 automatically. You have to
format the player manually or correct it with another encoding with EKD
or other....

OK, agreed. According to documentation on www.opengl.org, "glXCreatePbuffer is
available only if the GLX version is 1.3 or greater." But note that this is
about the GLX version, not GL version.
Fixed bug 524 - videos with row length not multiple 16 completely
garbled
I cannot test, so I'll trust it.
I had a sample, but I lost it when I changed laptop and link in bug is
broken.
I'm sure that the bug is fixed; that is not my worry. I'm more concerned that
existing uses are broken that were good before this change. But as I said, I
trust it works.
