no, its not your fault. Indeed its something quite basic that is missing :-/

Hi Eugene,

as Felix already hinted, Cinelerra is lacking in that respect.
But, at least the "building blocks" of such an operation are available.

Thus, while you can't just "pick" some selected parts and move, copy, cut
them as a compound, you can get to the same effect by using those mentioned
primitive operations.

- you can "arm"/"disarm" (disable editing) on individual tracks.
- plus there is the toggle to lock effects and/or labels
- in the "Keyframes" menu there are specific operation to just cut/copy/paste
the keyframes within the selection on the first "armed" track.

This at least allows you to push or slice parts of the project, and it allows
you to bring a sequence of keyframes "elsewhere". Nonetheless, the moment your
edit starts more elaborate, the workload of keeping everything aligned quickly
becomes prohibitive. The net effect is that Cinelerra more ore less forces you
into a pre-planning, sequential working style: First an edit plan, then building
up an edit, than tweaking the timings and only then (finally) adding the effects
and tweaking effect parameters with keyframes.
