More features and above all more SECURITY. Wireshark dissectors are tested against fuzzing by Mister G. Combs and should be by dissectors authors by running tools/fuzz-test.sh before putting public dissectors on bugs.wireshark.org.
My advice here is to always use the last version for limiting exposure of your computer if you don't want to get pwned by a miscreant who knows counter forensics attack against ethereal/wireshark (intentionnaly crash a wireshark with malicious packets to hide *FACTS* from the analyst eyes).
