I should point out that the EARL8 ASIC in the Nexus 7000 rectifies these issues in IDC environments. Presumably, if this newer ASIC is incorporated in future into 6500 and/or 7600 Supervisors and LCs, it would have the same salutary effect for those platforms, as well.
