Here's a possibility - some vendors implementations of NIC redundancy in a virtualization environment require the use of non-burned-in NICs. If the servers are built offline, the automatic MAC address assignment can (and will) pick duplicate NICs. The solutions are to either build the servers in-situ or to maintain a list of allocated virtual MAC addresses and watch for duplicates. Good luck, David Barak Need Geek Rock?
