Agreed. Its particularly curious on the ISR, since its still a software-based
platform and not positioned for heavy IGP/EGP workloads. SMP for NX-OS/XE/XR
where its "just" the control-plane is a lot easier than having to go near
forwarding.

Yes, unfortunately each BU keeps re-using this excuse to go their own way.
Hearing this repeatedly and re-reading the early press interviews on ION is
sobering.
