Hi here is the ouput:

sh ip route 172.29.2.2
Routing entry for 172.29.2.2/32
Known via "ospf 1", distance 110, metric 5161, type intra area
Last update from 10.64.161.165 on GigabitEthernet0/2, 01:05:45 ago
  Routing Descriptor Blocks:
  * 10.64.161.165, from 172.29.2.2, 01:05:45 ago, via GigabitEthernet0/2
Route metric is 5161, traffic share count is 1

The source is from our loopback0 IP which is the same that is used for all the other peers that are working.

Just an update, I downgraded the IOS on one of the two route reflectors to 12.3(26) SP from 12.2(33)SRE1 AIPServices and the sessions came back up. Note that the peer is running 12.2(33)SRE1 as well. Weird....

Can you share some other information?

Sh ip route "neighbor address"

Where are you sourcing your bgp updates from?

Thanks,

Subject: [c-nsp] BGP neighbor not establishing session

I've tried searching around for this problem but haven't found much info.

We upgraded some 7301 routers the other night and there are a couple of
neighbors which have not been able to re-establish themselves.
Debugging from one of the routers shows this:

Nov 21 21:06:51.902 EST: BGP: Neighbor validation failed. Flags: 0x10,
Neighbor-topo check: passed, Router ID: 172.29.1.1
frorr01#
Nov 21 21:07:00.098 EST: BGP: Neighbor validation failed. Flags: 0x10,
Neighbor-topo check: passed, Router ID: 172.29.1.1
frorr01#
Nov 21 21:07:10.482 EST: BGP: Neighbor validation failed. Flags: 0x10,
Neighbor-topo check: passed, Router ID: 172.29.1.1
frorr01#

I've also seen some extra info in the "show ip bgp summary" command:

Neighbor V AS MsgRcvd MsgSent TblVer InQ OutQ
Up/Down State/PfxRcd
172.29.2.1 4 20161 2 3 1 0 0
00:01:35 0 (SE)

Sometimes it's SE and other times it's SPE.

Any thoughts from anyone?

Thanks in advance.

Jose
