Hello there,
I have 2 WAN routers (RA, and RB) actually connected
via a FastEthernet interface that comprises sub
interfaces.
FastEthernet1/0.23 is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is DEC21140, address is 0010.f6d8.1810 (bia
0010.f6d8.1810)
Description: Boundary VLAN
Internet address is 149.8.170.66/29
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 100000 Kbit, DLY 100 usec, rely
255/255, load 1/255
Encapsulation ISL Virtual LAN, Color 900.
I am running EIGRP and the cost of routes on RA coming
from RB are previous_cost+2560.
RA:
D EX 10.16.8.0/24 [170/21282560] via 170.8.1.2,
01:02:34, FastEthernet1/0.3
[170/21282560] via 149.8.0.169,
01:02:34, Serial2/0.3
RB :
D EX 10.16.8.0/24 [170/21280000] via 149.8.2.30,
15:32:14, Serial3/0.3
The plan is to connect RA and RB via FastEthernet
directly without sub interfaces defined.
Will that change the cost of the advertised routes ?
I am just wondering if a subinterface on a FE has the
same EIGRP cost as a normal FE.
Is there anything that I should check ? It sounds a
pretty stright through change, but I am just cautious.
Thank you for letting me know,
