Hi, I have a 3640 router with one serial module and an ethernet module.IOS Version running on this is 11.3. On one of the serial ports, I had a WAN link with PPP encapsulation and this is the connection to Internet. Suddenly this serial interface port module went bad and I replaced this with a new one. Now on this new module, if I connect the PPP WAN link, it keeps saying "LCP Req sent" and "LCP Listen" but never goes to OPEN mode. Strange thing is that if I run PPP over any other WAN link on the same(Not Internet link) serial module, things work fine. What's happenning here....can some one let me know.
