A virtual lab is great...I spent over $30,000 on a hands-on lab and I dont
think it was necessary...although I did get my CCIE...
I like the hands on and the ability to use a lab anytime I wanted to (which
was about 60 days straight for 5-6 hours a day). A virtual rack is good if
you are VERY organized and focused. If your time can not be organized and
planned, then get your own hardware. IF you can manage your time very well,
you could more than likely get away with a virtual rack. A virtual rack is
nice too because you dont waste lots of time messing with your cables and
such...although that part did come in handy when it came time for
troubleshooting...
