I think the link backup is the key to BGP. Of course,
if you have only one ISP, BGP is totally useless. Only
if you have more than one ISP, in case they loose
their internet connetion, BGP will dynamically switchs
your link to the backup ISP.
I do not know how you can load balance your internet
traffic by using BGP only.
