SPID is a layer 2 feature if the ISDN switch type requires it. You can monitor it w/ the debug isdn q921. That command will debug information passed along the D channel. debug isdn q931 will monitor layer 3 traffic over the BRI lines. I have the CIT book but I don't recall seeing that error, what page is it on? It's incorrect because layer 3 depends on layer 2 to be active. Hope that helps! Russ..
