Hi, Had a question on the DB-9 adapter that Cisco uses and a regular DB-9 adapter. They are different in the way the pins are used but both of them work with the rollover cable when connecting a router via the console port and hyperterminal. So the question is if both the adapters are different why do both of them work?? So the adapter does not matter, right? Just the cable has to be a rollover ie. 1 to 8, 2 to 7 etc. Please advise.
