I check my 2502, and the result of
Router#show ?
(I get alot of things but, one of those being....):

access-lists List access lists
.
.
But either one works........ just like:
Router#copy run start
I think once you have enough letters to uniquely identify that command or
switch/option, it knows the only valid command with those same letters, and
it assumes that what you want.
