Simon, Since the Cat 3900 series TR switches are on the equipment list. http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/625/ccie/certifications/routing.html#43 and they can do ISL: "High-speed uplinks - The expansion slot can accommodate two high-speed uplinks (Token Ring ISL or ATM) for high-speed connectivity between switches and to servers." http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/lan/trsrb/ff3900.htm My guess is that it is fair game.
