When you navigate to a secure website and you get a popup challenge to authenticate, what type of authentication is this? It doesn't seem like it would be CHAP or PAP, but it could be a close relative. The particular site I'm interested in (an internal test site) is all HTTPS so I can't sniff the traffic. I'm interested in finding out exactly what triggers the popup challenge. We have some other monitoring software that can step through web pages and perform certain functions but it can't get past that popup.
