Phil,
Could you tell me a how you have a 3101(two ethernet interfaces only) wired 
in your lab? LAN only for sure, but would you elaborate, please.

I've got 6 in my lab- upgraded to 2500 boot ROM's, RAM, FLASH, & IOS...  So,
yes they are excellent for training.
