Subject: questions ?

hi ,

Just wondering anyone knows answer to this :

How many class C addresses can be summarized by the following route ospf
summarization entry?

network 209.76.12.0 0.0.7.255 area 10?

My answer is 2^5 which is 32 is that correct ?
but the bk put 8 so which one is correct?

-----------------

CL: the book is wrong on both counts. This is not a summarization command.
Rather, this command places al interfaces with address assignments from
209.76.8.0 through 209.76.15.255 into the ospf routing process as part of
area 10

The correct summarization command is area X range a.b.c.d w.x.y.z

So if the command were area 10 range 209.76.12.0 255.255.248.0 then it would
be summarizing 8 networks ( the remaining three bits in the third octet )

Which book did this example come from? You may want to check for the
publisher's errata.

Chuck

Which command will configure the clock source on a DS1 link to take the
clock source from the RX and use it on the TX ?

Answer is Clock source loop-timed

why is that so?

thanks
