Can you ping your DNS server? You can always use DNS servers
198.6.1.1 and 198.6.1.3. They are controlled by MCI/Worldcom/UUNET and
anyone can use them for DNS resolving. They are based in the US but
extremely reliable. You might want to try these just for testing purposes
and find a local DNS server later. Also, you might want to make sure IE is
not configured to use a proxy server or dialup connection or something.
Try Netscape too if you have it. This really points to the wrong DNS
server configured.
