Best order is study first, then take the exam - the other way doesnt
work so well :)

Traditionally CIT/Support has been left until the end as it covers stuff
from all three other exams. That said most NOC work etc. is
troubleshooting, so you might want to fit it in after BSCN, as you can
pick up the necessary switching and ISDN stuff on the fly.

BSCN probably is the best starting point because of the routing
protocols - you need to know those for most jobs out there.

BCRAN seems to be the easiest so you might want to leave that in case
you come to a time when you cant devote too much time to study.

Switching can cause some people a hangup (I have several friends who
found it very difficult), so you might want to give it a go, and if its
too difficult, have a break and do BCRAN, and then come back to it
later.

Im betting on 6 months study before my first shot at CCIE (that is with
a home lab and no life for the 6 months). with the high fail rate Im
planning on another 3 months after that to fill in the spots I missed if
I fail first time.

On my way though I plan on going through the ATM (done), Voice, and SNA
specialisations (as well as maybe the security although that doesnt
appear to be on the CCIE R&S exam) to work my way up, so I a) know
whether the topics have sunk in, and b) I have something quite
reasonable to show for the study even if I dont pass the lab.
