>> While there are free resources out there, do you actually
think your going to obtain your CCIE off of free
resources?!?!?

Why can't you pay for your self improvement?!?!? If you're
working in fast food, then it's probably not the cert for you.
If you're a networking professional, who is at the appropriate
experience level to think about such a certification, the you
certainly should have the clams to throw down to purchase
appropriate materials. I'm sick of hearing from cheap bastard
engineers want everything free....<<

Hi,

I left the message intact (including footers) to address a
couple of points:

1) E-mail is the absolute worst form of communication on this
planet. It cannot begin to adequately address such issues as
cultural differences, language barriers, socio-economic
barriers and a whole host of other problems related to
communicating effectively. Likewise, it cannot express emotion
(in spite of emoticons), it cannot show facial expressions, or
confusion on the part of the sender.

2) I did not necessarily interpret the e-mail from Anibal Pita
as looking for a free ride. I had a different slant on it. I
understood that he was desirous of pursuing the CCIE lab, but
wasn't sure if he was up to the technical tasks involved. He
was probably looking for a low budget method of trying to
evaluate whether he was headed in the right direction, or
possibly needed more background study before pursuing that
goal, which is a good approach.

3) I make absolutely no assumptions about how much money
Anibal makes. I assume that since Anibal lives in Caracas,
Venezuela, he falls into one of two defined socioeconomic
classes in that city. They are the ultra-rich and the ultra-
poor. There is not much of what I would classify as a "US
type, middle class"; although things may have changed
significantly since the last time I was there.

4) Finally, to answer the question posed by Anibal, I don't
know of any such resources myself. Right now, I am not
pursuing the CCIE certification. I may at a later date. If
you look on a good web search engine, you might be able to find
what you are looking for. On that note, I wish to bid all
members of Groupstudy a great weekend.

Take care,

Paul Werner
