got a question for the group. How can you tell if you are running a cisco 4500 or 4500M router? is there a command that will tell you this? Maybe 'sh ver'?
I'm not sure this helps, but I pulled this from Cisco Open Forum. Question: Besides the label on the back of a Cisco 4500 or Cisco 4700, is there a way to tell whether the router is an "M" model from the serial number? Answer: Here is a chart that will help you determine which router you have: Router sh ver Serial Number Label ------------------------------------------------------- 4000 Rev A0 440xxxxx C4000 4000M Rev B0 445xxxxx C4000 4500 revision 0x00 450xxxxx C4500 4500M revision B 455xxxxx C4500 4700 revision B 470xxxxx C4700 4700M revision C 475xxxxx C4700M+ To differentiate between Cisco 4500M and a Cisco 4700, see the sh ver column. It contains a revision statement.
