I think I read somewhere that by default the router sends only RIP v1 but
listens to both RIP v1 and RIP v2.
Anything else has to be manually configured.

By default it will be RIP v1.
You have to specifically tell it to use RIP v2.

If you enable rip on a router by defualt will it be RIP v1 or RIP v2?
