Greetings, I've encountered a strange one today. I issued cdp neigh command on my router, the results two switches on the same router int (e0). I checked the first switch (Cat 5XXX), and the results from the cdp command as follows: Port Device-ID Port-ID Platform -------- ------------------------------- ------------------------- --------- --- 2/1 00D058794800 A cisco 1900 2/2 0050BD76DD40 A cisco 1900 2/3 0050BD76DC80 A cisco 1900 2/4 00D058795480 A cisco 1900 3/3 00D058792F00 B cisco 1900 3/4 00D058793100 B cisco 1900 3/5 00D058796000 B cisco 1900 3/6 0050BD76C800 B cisco 1900 3/7 00D0587953C0 B cisco 1900 3/8 Training Room nar-s1100D0587943 B cisco 1900 3/8 nar-c1.nccr.epa.gov Ethernet0 cisco 2500 Two questions 1- what does Port-ID A or B means, and 2- why are both the switch and the router showing on the same port 3/8. Thanks, Nabil Happy turkey day for all! _________________________________ FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
