This might be a helpful information for some of you.

I was just shopping for another Catalyst 3548-XL-EN (wsc3548xlen) and after
I typed it in on http://www.cnet.com I found it for only $3.099.00 at
http://www.LanBlvd.com - That is $300.00 to 400.00 cheaper than CDW,
ProVantage, etc.

And then an ADSL question.

Cabling for standard analog phones has never really been that big of a deal
(to me anyway), but after I got ADSL with Southwestern Bell a couple of
weeks ago, I started thinking about what the best cabling would be to
optimize the ADSL traffic to the best, since it is using my existing phone
cables, with filters on each connected phone.

I have run CAT5e cables in my entire house, for both my LAN and my phones,
but would it help to splice 4 and 4 wires together like in the drawing below
so it can use more copper, or should I even go with a different cable type?

                   ___ 1
                  /___ 2
          _______/____ 3
         / \____ 6
   PHONE ____
         \_______/____ 4
                 \____ 5
                  \___ 7
                       8
