I am new to this list, and new to the PIX firewall. I just bought one and
was trying to back up the default config to a floppy disk before I start
playing with it. At first I was getting a message indicating that there was
no floppy installed. I opened the case and made sure the cables were
securely connected and the behavior changed. I no longer get an error, the
light on the drive indicates activity, but there are no files on the disk
when the “wr floppy” command finishes executing. If I try to change the
hostname and “wr floppy” the config, I would expect something to be on the
disk, or an error indicating that nothing could be written. Is there
anything that I am missing here, or does it just sound like a bad drive?

Thanks in advance

James Riggs
